Pictures and Videos of Goleta & Ganare Family
Pedro Ganare, born in the Phillipines in 1885, was the first American in my family. He was a Phillipine Scout serving in the US Army during the Phil-Am war. From 1905 to 1935 including WWI, Pedro served the US Army 19th infantry stationed at Schofield on Oahu, Territory of Hawaii. He served as a soldier and a musician in the infantry’s marching band.
Juan Acompanado Goleta was born in Nabua, Bicol Region of the Philippines in 1927, and volunteered at 17 years old to join the US Navy. After short tours, and training in San Diego, he was stationed in Pearl Harbor and met Anita Ganare. This was the beginning and merging of two unique and special families.
